Town of Seneca Ordinance, 100.01.
“Dogs running at large is prohibited. Dogs are not allowed to run at large at any time in the Town of Seneca. Dogs on the premises of their owners and dogs attended by their owners or keepers are deemed not to be running at large for the purposes of this Ordinance. Any owner or keeper of any dog running at large shall be liable to a fine of not less than $5 nor more than $100, plus the costs of prosecution for each violation.”
“Dogs running at large is a continuing issue in the Township. Not only is this potentially dangerous for the animals but it can also be dangerous to our Town residents, especially children. There is also potential for car accidents with cars or getting involved with rabid animals or even getting into poison. Unsterilized dogs at large can breed with other unsterilized dogs and create unwanted pets. Pet owners such as yourself, are encouraged to be responsible residents and ensure their pets are safely restricted to their personal property.”
